THE ANCIENT saga of Diarmuid and Grainne gets a zestful makeover from Fíbín Theatre Company in an entertaining Town Hall staging of Tóraíocht that is a leap-off for a national tour –rather like the cross-country epic of the play’s hero and heroine.

FÍBÍN, THE Galway based Irish language theatre company is celebrating its 15th anniversary with its largest production to date, a nationwide tour, in April, of Tóraíocht, directed by Mikel Murfi.

As 2017 draws to a close, thoughts turn to the New Year and Galway theatre goers have much to look forward to from both home-based and visiting companies and theatre-makers.

And so the curtain falls on another lively year of Galwaytheatre in which both home-based and visiting companies provided much to savour and, as is the way of things, some misses as well as hits.

GALWAY'S FÍBÍN Theatre Company will premiere Tóraíocht, its new version of the epic tale, The Pursuit of Diarmuid and Gráinne - written by Philip Doherty and directed by renowned actor and director Mikel Murfi - next week at the Black Box Theatre.
